What we collect

Code Meter does not collect, store, or transmit personal data through its own servers. There are no accounts and no advertising. Anonymous app and website analytics are collected via PostHog to understand product usage and landing page performance.

How the app works

Code Meter uses credentials or authenticated web sessions stored locally on your Mac for the providers you connect: Claude, Codex, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Kimi, Minimax, ElevenLabs, Z.ai, OpenCode Go, Ollama Cloud, and Grok. Authentication data never passes through Code Meter's own servers: it is sent directly from your Mac to the selected provider over HTTPS to fetch available usage data. No intermediary Code Meter server is involved.

Data stored on your device

Usage history snapshots are stored locally using SwiftData for the history charts. Widget data is shared between the app and its widgets via a local App Group container. All data stays on your Mac.

Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous app and website usage data to help us understand how users interact with Code Meter and improve it. In the app, PostHog collects a random anonymous identifier, app metadata, and feature interactions. On the website, PostHog collects anonymous page views and clicks on links such as the App Store button, badges, and contact links.

All analytics data is hosted on PostHog's EU Cloud servers in Frankfurt, Germany and never leaves Europe. App person profiles are disabled (personProfiles = .never), and website tracking is configured without identifying visitors. Website analytics is configured in cookieless mode with session replay and autocapture disabled. We do not use IDFA, advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or device fingerprinting. No data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Third-party services

Provider usage APIs - Code Meter contacts the API of the provider you connect to retrieve your usage information. Only the provider you select is contacted.

RevenueCat - used to manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts through Apple and does not receive any personal data from Code Meter. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

PostHog - used for anonymous app and website analytics as described above.

Privacy choices

Code Meter does not use advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, cross-site tracking, accounts, or device fingerprinting. Website analytics is configured in cookieless mode. If you have questions about privacy choices, contact us.
